When you come to a HAY project, you’ll always be welcomed by friendly staff and a space full of fun, meaningful things to do. It’s somewhere you can relax, be yourself, and explore new experiences , meet new people, knowing you’re in safe hands.
Our staff are trained trauma-informed practitioners and co-regulators who understand how to create environments where young people feel genuinely safe and supported. Every member of our team has autism awareness training, first aid, and mental health first aid training and all of our sessions incorporate Zones of Regulation to support emotional wellbeing. All of our staff and volunteers have safeguarding training. We adapt everything we do to meet the needs of the young people in the room, and we’re committed to creating spaces that are safe, culturally appropriate, and truly engaging. Our approach includes mentoring with a focus on strengths-based outcomes.
