HAY are so happy to announce the launch of a new ASDAN Accredited project which is funded and supported by Today at Apple. Our close partnership work with Apple allowed us be part of their very successful Made in London programme for two years. We were able to develop a social enterprise project to support a need that arose during the pandemic. Young people told us they felt there was a lack of opportunities for them during and post pandemic so we developed a social enterprise project which would allow them to create and launch their own businesses. To date we have run it successfully for 2 years and we have recently secured funding to run it again.
We work with Ultra Education to deliver these sessions on how to start and launch your own business. The sessions include:
- Finding your passion
- Starting a business – Ideation
- Introduction to entrepreneurship. Logo development
- Business development – Mindset of an entrepreneur
- Digital and Technology – Using Canva and other software
- Motivational talks from young entrepreneurs
- Business development – practice presentations
- Presentation of business ideas
Intended outcomes include
- Young people to feel motivated into thinking about their talents and interests and how they can turn these into social enterprises
- Young people developed a logo and business idea by the end of the eighth session
- Include a talk from a young entrepreneur who has successfully developed a business
- Increase the skills, creativity, and critical thinking of young people
- Increase self-esteem and confidence of young people
- Increase young people’s professional networks
- Improve the emotional well-being of the young people
The sessions work with young people at their own pace and also support them in looking at career paths in their chosen fields, apprenticeships, courses and employment.
